The Riseborough Care Centre, originally a convent,
was extensively redesigned and re furbished in 1999
to provide luxurious accommodation and facilities
for elderly nursing and residential clients embarking
on a new era in their lives.
The Riseborough is situated in a peaceful residential
area opposite the Central Gardens – just a
short walk from Bournemouth Town centre.
The ‘state of the art’ accommodation
is provided in the West and East wings separated
by various elegantly appointed communal areas, including
a friendly licensed bar and the Garden Lounge complete
with grand piano.
Both wings have superior rooms and suites (named
after famous poets and authors) all with en-suite
facilities and many having assisted baths or showers.
All rooms are furnished to a very high standard
and are equipped with remote control colour satellite
TV. The Riseborough boasts its own cinema, bar,
chapel (with original stained glass windows), hair
salon beauty and massage room, multi-sensory relaxation
lounge and waitress service restaurant with choice
of menu and full wine list.
The extensive grounds include a large courtyard
with water fountain, well kept lawns and borders
and a lovely summerhouse with plenty of seating
to enjoy the peace and quiet.
The Riseborough is sensitively designed to maximise
residents independence whilst providing the opportunity
for companionship and to spoil oneself. The luxurious
furnishings and decor are combined with functional
practicality offered to those who may need assistance
in the activities of daily living.
All the spacious bedrooms (named after famous poets
and authors) have ensuite toilets and wash basins
whilst suits enjoy showers or baths (some with power
assisted hoists). The abundance of elegant siting
areas allow for a choice between private or companionship
and activity.
