BetterCare likes to reply to frequently-asked questions about our company and the level of service we provide. These are just some of the questions we find that clients wish to know concerning our homes.

Are there daily papers provided?
Answer: Newspapers/Magazines and postage stamps can be ordered and obtained at reception.

What about mail?
Answer: Mail delivered to the home and addressed to you will be delivered to your room. Letters for posting handed to reception.

What about Hairdressing?
Answer: We have a professional Hairdresser calling to the home - often in our own salon.

Can I bring my own belongings?
Answer: Residents are encouraged to bring their personal effects such as favourite chairs, photographs and ornaments. Valuable items or documents may be deposited in our safe where practical.

What about Laundry & Dry Cleaning?
Answer: Full laundry facilities are available in each home. A seperate dry cleaning service is also available. Items can be taken to the cleaners on request

Is there just one meal choice?
Answer: No. A choice of menu is offered between hot and cold dishes for all three meals of the day. Our quality catering service which offers varied menus will endeavour to meet individual choice, taste, dietary and cultural requirements

What about Fire Safety in the Homes?
Answer: All our homes are equipped with fire alarm systems. Each home has an established day and time for testing.In the unlikely event of fire, staff are trained to make a quick evacuation of all residents through emergency exits. Special instructions are located throughout the building.

Can I drink Alcohol or Smoke?
Answer: For the convenience of others we encourage residents to only smoke in the specially designated areas. Residents may partake of alcohol unless medically advised to the contrary.

What about religion?
Answer: Representatives of all religions and faiths are welcome.

What about Visitors?
Answer: We operate an open door policy for visitors but prefer advance notice of Better Care - FAQ

What about Dental, Optical, Physiotherapy & Chiropody?
Answer: These services may be available through the health service for which there is no charge but should they not be availble, alternative arrangements can be made.
